Oli and Koer, picture book, 2026

Illustrations and text for this picturebook. Oli a little elephant and Koer, a cowbird are friends. Oli wants to say something important to Koer but Koer is so busy with himself that he is talking the whole time and not listening at all. His nest has been flown away by the wind and he is searching for the grandmother of Oli because she can help him building a new nest. In the end Oli finds a way to let Koer listen. She tells Koer that her grandma died! Koer listens very well now and tries to console Oli. But in the end Oli stilll has a present for her dearest friend!
I started the book when my own mother died and I saw my son imitating and telling things what she used to do. And elephants can really cry and feel sadness when of of them dies so I choose this little elephants! Again remarkable animals and again endangered.
